ePortfolios
Appropriate for Teachers, FE, HE and students about to leave school, though the skills can be learned at anytime.
“Definition of an ePortfolio
A cohesive, powerful, and well-designed collection of electronic documents that demonstrate your skills, education, professional development, and the benefits you offer to a target reader. (Wikipedia)
Maybe this should include the use of communication tools such as Blogs and email.
A collection of authentic and diverse evidence, drawn from a larger archive, that represents what a person or organization has learned over time, on which the person or organization has reflected, designed for presentation to one or more audiences for a particular rhetorical purpose. (EDUCAUSE NLII)
I think this one sums it up well.
‘e-Portfolios….are personal online spaces for students to access services and store work. They will become ever more useful as learners grow up and start moving between different types of learning and different institutions.’ DfES 2006″

Using skills taught in some of my other courses – using audio and video, podcasting and blogging aqnd other presentation techniques, I can run a practical workshop on:
- What ePortfolios are, and who they are for
- Practical skills for making an ePortfolio – audio / video / blog etc.
I can explain what you need to know in a twilight session, but if you want to begin to make one and explore them in practice, we’ll need a half [or preferably ] or a full day. You will need access to a computer connected to the Internet.
