Managing Photo and Video files on computer

Teachers wanting to prepare and make resources for their computer presentations need basic skills for managing photos and videos. This practical course provides teachers with the skills and software to gain competence and confidence.

I can run the course as day or half day courses or as a series of twilight courses. For example, we could spend a morning on photos and the afternoon on videos, or as a day each in their own right.

We cover – for managing photo files.

  • finding and copying files from the web – screen capture software
  • storing and managing files visually on your computer – Picasa from Google.
  • basic editing skills – photoshop or similar.
  • placing photos in resources – PPT, whiteboard, Word, Blogs

we cover – for video files.

  • copying video from the web / YouTube or similar
  • capturing video with a web cam / similar
  • storing and managing files visually on your computer – Picasa from Google.
  • basic editing skills – movie maker or similar.
  • placing videos in resources – PPT, whiteboard, Word, Blogs

I supply a CDRom with examples and Open source software, with a book.

This is a practical course and you need access to a computer

This course will suit any ‘subject’ teacher with a basic competence in using a computer.
